Rough Week

So it was pretty obvious in Midweek last night that it has been a rough week for a lot of people. I can't say that I understand each situation, or that I even have the right words to say to make it seem alright.

I do however know that God wants us to see all these things through his eyes. Somehow God has purpose and plans in what is going on in each of our lives. An oft quoted verse of encouragement says,

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

God is working all these things for our benefit, and for His glory. What's the benefit in pain, hurt, and sorrow? James 1 tells us that it is for the perfection (maturity) of our faith. It is these thoughts in scripture that give perspective to our lives. When people get sick, relationships go south, and life has more questions than answers keep in mind that none of this is out of God's control. In fact we should rest assured everyday that He is in control.
