Sports Outreach

On Sunday, September 30, we will be showing the movie "Facing the Giants" and inviting local sports teams from schools in our area to come and watch with us.

Here is a trailer from that movie. Start praying now about who you can invite.

Wow wow wee wow wow!

So lately I've been purposely trying to see the beauty in God's creation. I know for myself that I take much of what he has made for granted, and even at times am angry or find displeasure in nature (rain, or heat, or whatever). But being outdoors two weekends ago with the Sr High, and then being at the beach this past weekend with the C&C I have really been able to see more of the beauty in what God has done.

Then, yesterday I get home and see this spider outside one of our front windows. I don't like spiders. Not at all. But this thing is beautiful and huge. When I tried to look up the kind of spider it was I found so many different types it was a little daunting. That got me thinking again about the kind of God we have. He is limitless and powerful. So incredible and beyond us. Sarah and I watched this BBC Documentary (the first DVD out of 12 or 13) that went from pole to pole talking about animal life. God is just so awesome! I would have problems coming up with all the different species, but he was able to do that and then create variations within each species, and make them all work together. Wow. It's all to much. And that is our God. And his mind is on you! He has plans for you! How incredible.

Here are some pics of that spider. And here is the wiki on it.

Toast...

So the C&C sunday school class went on a mini retreat to Dewey beach yesterday. We had a ton of fun, and the weather held out too. But I ended up like a burnt piece of toast. I did in fact wear sun tan lotion, (spf 30) and reapplied after getting out of the water, but it did not help me at all. I am burnt. I hate sun burn. It really stinks.

I'll get a few pics up by tomorrow...

See you all on wednesday.

Grad Class

I feel that all I do lately is apologize for not updating the blog... but right after vaca, I'll be back at it! I promise.

One of the reasons that I have been unable to update as of lately is the graduate class that i am in (right at this moment). It is on domestic abuse. Very thought provoking... although I wouldn't want to have to deal with it. But statistics say that I probably will...

Here are a few shots from my class during our break.
