Shhhhh... it's the silent day of solidarity for the pro-life choice!Labels: Events, Outreach/Service

So we have the flotation device of righteousness, the lei of truth, the galoshes of the gospel of peace, the garbage lid of faith, the motorcycle helmet of salvation, and don't forget the ski pole of the Spirit, which is of course the word of God.

Someone asked if we could put the notes online from the Simplify Your Life series we finished a few weeks back. Here they are! It took me a little while to get it up, but finally they are available.

So in youth group here at CMBC, we are starting a new series entitled, "All out War". Basically, all Christians are in a grand battle with evil (sounds quite dramatic, doesn't it?) My question is this:
What happens when the soldiers rebel? (in other words, what happens when Christians sin?)
How should sin be dealt with? Do we take sin seriously enough? Is our lack of understanding about spiritual warfare partly to blame for our numbness to our own sin?
Check out these Bible passages:
Psalm 38,
James 4:7-10.
So for those of you who missed it... which is almost everybody since we only took 6 students and 3 C&C to free fall... what an awesome weekend! God used the speakers in a mighty way to pierce our hearts with the truth of God's word. The music was great too... the Robbie Seay band played for the worship sets, and Jeremy Camp, Jeremy Riddle and Christy Nockles of Watermark performed too... wow, good times. I really encourage you all to try to come next time if they do this event again... I have pics and some vids that i will try to put up tomorrow if i get a chance. Here are a few things that God was speaking to me about throughout the weekend... 1. Some important questions/statements- Who do we believe God to be?
- Who do we believe God wants us to be?
- How should our lives change because of the answers to 1 & 2?
2. How do we determine our value and worth? Is it by the stuff of this world or is it connected to our identity in Christ? 3. How we see Jesus will determine how we live our lives.
4. Will it matter in 1000 years?
5. Questions from John 14
- What is the spiritual path to know God?
- What is the truth I'm to believe?
- What am I supposed to do?
Jesus answers...- I am the exclusive way to God
- I am the truth that transforms you from the inside (a truth that confronts our thinking, converts our values and re-creates our view of the world)
- I am the way to live life (the Jesus way, all of life as a platform to live for the kingdom and glory of God)
6. Jesus trumps the natural (our flesh) because he is supernatural (he is God). 7. A wise man loves rebuke... he loves opportunities to become holyLabels: Events, For Discussion...
Coming up on October 23 will be your chance to help raise awareness on the problem of abortion in the US. Check this site out for more information. We will be organizing some things in our ministry here to help you take a stand on that day.
