I was thinking that it would be really cool to recap our series for the adults on Sunday night. If I could get four people to review our first four weeks of Pity the Fool, that would be awesome!
- Week 1 - The Worlds Wisdom [James 3:13-18]
- The result of worldly wisdom is selfishness, self-centeredness, self-promotion
- God's wisdom will be demonstrated by it's fruit
- God's wisdom is characterized by other-centeredness
- Week 2 - The Fool Says There is no God [Ps 14:1-3 & 5b-7, Ps 53:5, Romans 1:18-23]
- Week 3 - The Fool is Wise in his own eyes [Pr 1:1-19, Pr 12:15, Rom 1:22, 1 Co 2:6-16]
- Fools reject (real/Gods) wisdom for their own, but the wise seek God's wisdom
- The fool relies on the worlds counterfeit wisdom instead of God
- Week 4 - The Fool's Foundation [Mt 7:16-27]
- Hearing & heading the words of Jesus makes one wise, but the fool lives by his own accomplishments
- The fool rejects Jesus
- The fool relies on what he can do for himself, like the pharisees
I'm not asking for a lot; read a passage or two, and explain the fools character or worldview and lay out the main idea. Maybe a minute or two at most.
I asked Asa if he would do this past weeks lesson... and I would do a wrap-up-preview for this coming week - The Great Reversal.
Anyone interested?
